Sun vs. Fever Preview

The Sun are off to a rough start and are still seeking their first win of the season. Being winless is bad enough, but things look even worse when considering the fact that the Sun have lost three of their five games by 20 or more points, including each of their past two.

On the other side of this matchup, the Fever have lost back-to-back games and will be without Caitlin Clark, who is out with a left quadriceps strain.

This matchup may be ugly, but there's still betting value on the board.

Sun vs. Fever Prediction

Sometimes, the grossest bets are the sharpest plays and that may be the case here. Not much has gone right for Connecticut this season, but I'm trusting this Bet Labs system and betting the Sun. Here's why:

This system, which is 139-87-4 (62%) lifetime with a 19% ROI, focuses on teams that lost their previous game by seven or more points as these situations heighten market negativity and inflate the next spread.

However, this system, and its track record, suggest that WNBA teams — even those with poor records — respond well to the market negativity, especially when the spread crosses a key value threshold, like 11.5 or more.

Simply put, this line has bee inflated by poor optics, not predictive fundamentals.

This season, this system is 2-1 with a 27% ROI. Tonight, let's back the 'dog and hope the system stays hot.

Best Bet: Sun +12
