2021 Puerto Rico Open Betting Odds: European & Korn Ferry Tour Regulars Fill Field

Golf bettors are treated to two events this week. While most of the attention will be on the stars in the WGC-Workday Championship, the money counts the same at the Puerto Rico Open.

A weaker field than what will be at the WGC event, Puerto Rico can oftentimes provide a stage for an up-and-comer to break out for a win. Viktor Hovland picked up his first career win there in 2020; Tony Finau's only career PGA Tour win is at Puerto Rico in 2016.

Others have had strong showings. In the last 10 years, Daniel Berger, Bryson DeChambeau and Jordan Spieth are among those with runner-up finishes.

A group of European Tour regulars are the favorites this week, starting with Thomas Pieters at 14-1. He has no wins on the PGA Tour and his best finish in 2020 is a T23 in the U.S. Open. But Pieters does have four international wins.

He's ahead of Emiliano Grillo, Ian Poulter and Matt Wallace, all at 18-1. Grillo was the runner-up here in 2015. Poulter's last win came at the Houston Open in 2018. He has two WGC wins in his career. Wallace is another player without a PGA Tour win, but he's won four times on the European Tour.

Many Korn Ferry regulars fill the field, including Brandon Wu at 30-1. Taylor Pendrith (35-1) is second to Will Zalatoris in Korn Ferry points this season. Lee Hodges (35-1) is fifth in the standings.  A little further down the board, Davis Riley (55-1) is third in the Korn Ferry Tour.
