2025 RBC Canadian Open Picks, Odds

The 2025 RBC Canadian Open tees off on Thursday morning, June 4, 2025, from TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley.

This is the final tournament before the top golfers in the world compete for the year's third major, the U.S. Open, which takes place next weekend at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Penn.

The week before a major and in a non-signature event you often expect many of the top players to take off while prepping for the big event, and while this field lacks world No. 1 and current juggernaut Scottie Scheffler, it's still headlined by Rory McIlroy.

The 2025 Masters champion enters the week as a strong betting favorite at +450 odds at DraftKings.

Behind McIlroy on the odds board is Ludvig Aberg at +1400, followed by Corey Conners at +2000 and Shane Lowry at +2200. Three other golfers come in shorter than 30/1: Taylor Pendrith, Sam Burns, and Robert MacIntyre, all of whom are +2800.

Let's get into my 2025 RBC Canadian Open picks for this weekend's tournament on the PGA Tour.

Quickslip

Alex Smalley Outright Winner (+6600, 0.25u)

Alex Smalley Top 20 (+250, 0.75u)

The last few months have been fairly turbulent for Alex Smalley, but despite that he is still a player who I think has the upside to win an event like this.

I do this his rollercoaster recent play provides us with a bit of a discount as well, but over the last six months he ranks 12th in total strokes gained in this field, while also ranking 14th in strokes gained off the tee, seventh in strokes gained tee-to-green, and 26th in strokes gained putting.

Joseph Bramlett Outright Winner (+25000, 0.1u)

Joseph Bramlett Top 20 (+400, 0.5u)

Joseph Bramlett Top 40 (+135, 1u)

Joseph Bramlett was a late addition to the field so we get an exceptionally long number for him here following Sahith Theegala's withdrawal.

However, Bramlett is a great fit for this course, as he has the distance to gain an advantage on the field. While this will be a long course, it should not be overly challenging, which also benefits Bramlett here.

Bramlett is very likely to miss the cut, but he has shown that when he is playing well he has upside as he finished T13 a few weeks ago in Myrtle Beach and third in Puerto Rico in March.

Keith Mitchell First Round Leader (+4500, 0.25u)

Back to the Cashmere Keith special. I don’t mind Keith Mitchell in the full week outright market either this week, but he is usually a very hot starter and we all know his typical implosions can loom at any moment.

Mitchell has been striking the ball well, and on a course that is expected to play longer, his distance off the tee will be helpful here.

Luke Clanton Outright Winner (+4000, 0.5u)

Luke Clanton Top 20 (+185, 1u)

Luke Clanton is finally set to make his professional debut after tearing up the PGA Tour last year as an amateur.

Clanton already has five top-10 finishes or better under his belt, despite not having hit a golf shot as a professional yet.

This also profiles as a great course for him, as it is a lengthy venue but one that has tons of low scores out there.

This course should play similarly to Detroit Golf Club and TPC Deere Run, two places where Clanton turned in top 10 finishes last summer.
