Both starting pitchers have outperformed their surface metrics. Shane Baz has a 4.79 ERA but a 4.12 xERA. He’s struggled with home runs this season (1.52 HR/9) but Royals have hit the second fewest HRs and are sitting Salvador Perez today, which should help us. On the other side, Michael Lorenzen has also outperformed his 4.81 ERA with a 4.23 xERA.
