The Highlights

  • Last night's results and a pitching change driving two MLB overs.
  • Bettors can't get enough of a  Rockets total under 210.

With a full baseball slate to go along with two NBA playoff matchups, public bettors have dipped into both sports Tuesday night to back three overs — shocker, I know.

All data as of 3:30 p.m. ET. For live info, check out MLB and NBA live odds pages.

New York Mets-Cincinnati Reds Over 9

7:10 p.m. ET

Behind 84% of bettors and 81% of dollars, this over is the second-most popular play in sports tonight. The total has fallen from 9.5 to 9, however, an indication of potential sharp action on the under.

Why the public loves the over: This matchup featured the most popular over last night as well (74% of bets), and a 13-run game gave the public an easy winner. Why not go in for seconds tonight?

Utah Jazz-Houston Rockets Over 207.5

8 p.m. ET

The most popular bet on tonight's two-game NBA slate, this over has attracted 76% of bettors and 92% of dollars. Despite that, the total has actually fallen 1.5 points from its opening number.

Why the public loves the over: Any time the total sits below 210 in a Rockets game, the public will be all over it. It's only happened eight times this season, but in every case, at least 60% of bettors took the over.

Miami Marlins-Chicago Cubs Over 9

8:05 p.m. ET

In a nearly identical situation to the Mets-Reds matchup, this total has attracted 89% of bettors to the over so far — which would make it the most popular play of the season — but has fallen from 9.5 to 9.

Why the public loves the over: Through four innings last night, the Cubs had already hit the over by themselves. Tonight, the public is likely expecting the Marlins to chip in as well, as they'll likely be facing Jen-Ho Tseng in his second career start.
