On Friday, there's NRFI value at Chase Field in an NL West matchup between the Rockies and Diamondbacks.

The Diamondbacks will send out ace Zac Gallen, who has a stellar 13-2 NRFI record this season. Against 56 first-inning batters, Gallen has only issued two walks and has held hitters to a .173 average.

Here is how the top of the Rockies' batting order has fared against Gallen:

Brendan Rodgers: 1-for-11
Connor Joe: 1-for-9
C.J. Cron: 2-for-11
Kris Bryant: 1-for-7

This bodes well for Gallen in this matchup, and the Rockies' batters have understandably been better at home than on the road.

On the other side, the Rockies will counter with Chad Kuhl on the mound. His 11-4 overall NRFI record is very respectable for pitching at Coors Field. He also holds a proficient 6-2 road split.

Here is how these Diamondbacks hitters have done against Kuhl:

David Peralta: 2-for-10
Christian Walker: 0-for-7
Alek Thomas: 0-for-2
Carson Kelly: 0-for-5

In first innings over the last 15 days, Diamondbacks hitters have struggled swinging the bat as they have gone just 7-for-42 (.167) at the plate. They have also led MLB in soft contact at (31.0% of the time) this season, which means double plays could always eliminate runners on base.

The Rockies have hit the NRFI on the road 74% of the time, while the Diamondbacks NRFI at home 75% of the time in 2022. With NRFI odds listed at FanDuel at (-111), there's a 2.9% edge on this bet if the Rockies and Diamondbacks' NRFI trends continue.

With Gallen on the mound and a Diamondbacks team that has had troubles with frequent soft contact, take the NRFI between the Rockies and Diamondbacks.

As always, six outs to glory…
