For my Monday MLB player props, I'll be backing a pair of hot hitters in Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Eugenio Suarez.

However, I'll begin in Pittsburgh, where Paul Skenes and the Pirates will be hosting the Tigers.

Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for the MLB games on Monday, July 21.

Last Tuesday, Paul Skenes and Tarik Skubal started against each other in the All-Star Game.

Skubal pitched another masterpiece on Sunday Night Baseball, so unfortunately, there won't be a rematch tonight. His Tigers eked out a 2-1 win to salvage a game in Texas, but they scored just three runs in the series. That doesn't bode well for a matchup against Pittsburgh's ace tonight.

Skenes faced the Tigers in Detroit last month, and he didn't have his best stuff, as he walked five batters in six innings. However, he still struck out nine while allowing two runs and three hits.

With the exception of the walks, Skenes posted a nearly identical stat line against the Tigers last season.

With 18 strikeouts in 12 career innings against Detroit, the line of 6.5 strikeouts is particularly appetizing tonight.

The Tigers are third in strikeout rate against right-handed pitchers this season. Skenes has fanned Riley Greene, Spencer Torkelson, Zach McKinstry and Wenceel Perez at least twice.

Including his start against the Tigers, Skenes has cleared this line in seven of his last 11 outings. I like his chances of getting there again and also up to nine strikeouts, which is +360 on DraftKings.

The Blue Jays began this month by sweeping the Yankees to take control of the AL East. They hold a three-game lead entering tonight, as the Yankees head back to Toronto for another three-game set.

One player who always looks forward to playing the Yankees is Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

In 96 career games against the Yankees, Guerrero is slashing .285/.352/.533 with 23 doubles, 21 home runs and 70 runs batted in.

He's likely looking forward to tonight's matchup against Carlos Rodon, who has yet to strike Guerrero out despite their lengthy history. Guerrero is 9-for-15 (.600) with three doubles, a home run, five RBI and a 1.667 OPS against the southpaw.

Rodon has enjoyed a strong season, earning a trip to the All-Star Game. However, he's surrendered 17 doubles and 11 home runs against right-handed pitchers this season.

Guerrero is hitting .329 with a .971 OPS against left-handed pitching this season. He homered off another tough lefty yesterday when he hit his 13th four-bagger of the season off Robbie Ray.

Guerrero also hits for more power at home, with 22 of his 32 extra-base hits this season coming in Toronto. He's +240 for a double and +450 for a home run on Fanatics tonight. Either one would give him two total bases tonight.

Astros vs Diamondbacks Player Props: Hot Streak for Suarez

If Arizona decides to sell, Eugenio Suarez will be the most impactful bat on the market. However, not so fast on that idea, as the team began the second half with a sweep of the Cardinals and is 4 1/2 games out of the final wild card spot.

Suarez led the way with four home runs and seven RBI in the three games and is up to 35 home runs and 85 RBI on the year, which both lead the National League.

He'll look to stay hot against Colton Gordon and the Astros. Suarez has reverse splits with a .276 batting average against righties and a .193 batting average against left-handers.

Still, the power numbers remain consistent, as he has three doubles, 10 home runs and a .876 OPS in 83 at-bats against left-handed pitching this season.

Gordon has allowed 12 doubles, nine home runs and a .882 OPS to right-handed batters this season. He has a 4.67 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 2025, and now he gets a hot Diamondbacks team that's fourth in the MLB in runs scored and averages 5.27 runs per game at home.

Suarez has been a major factor, as 23 of his home runs have come at Chase Field this season.

Not only has Suarez homered in three of his last five games, but he's also homered twice in all three games. He's +315 for one home run and +2200 for two home runs on Fanatics tonight.

He also has a five-game hitting streak overall and has recorded two total bases in four of those games.

I like him to get at least two bases, whether he launches another homer or not.
