Talk about a hangover Monday. After four full days of NCAA Tournament goodness, both fans and bettors have to wait until the Sweet 16 gets underway on Thursday. As a result, it's no surprise to see betting handles for today's college basketball games suffering.
With public money largely out of tonight's college basketball market, sharp bettors have turned their attention to the NBA. In fact, wiseguys have already pinpointed tonight's Warriors-Spurs (9:30 p.m. ET) matchup as a game worthy of their early action.
With Kevin Durant (rib), Steph Curry (ankle) and Klay Thompson (thumb) all out with injuries tonight, oddsmakers at Pinnacle opened the Spurs as 6.5-point favorites over the Warriors.
Recreational bettors, who often overreact to injury news, have been quick to lay the points with 60% of early tickets on San Antonio. In this instance, professionals agree with the public and have also jumped on the Spurs.
Wiseguys steamed this number at San Antonio -6.5, pushing the line up to -7 at the majority of offshore sportsbooks, revealing that the Spurs are the favorite side of both sharp and public bettors in this matchup.
