Warriors vs Nuggets NBA Preview

The Nuggets are 5-2 straight up and 4-3 against the spread, yet still with some questions to answer even with their start to the year.

Will Cam Johnson settle in, ever? How injured is Jamal Murray? Will anyone hit a three-pointer? Is this a revenge spot?

Remember, despite 50 points from Aaron Gordon, the Warriors outlasted the 2023 champs thanks to a huge fourth quarter and overtime engineered by Stephen Curry, who ended with 42 points.

Golden State is both 5-4 against the spread and straight up.

The Warriors have been more up and down, as expected.

They've lost three of four coming into this, with each loss being on the road, where they're 1-4.

Golden State needs to win road games, and given their age, remain healthy.

Jimmy Butler (back) is questionable to play, and Curry has already been declared out with an illness.

De'Anthony Melton will be recalled from a rehab assignment in the G League on Friday, meaning he's closer to returning.

Denver is all set as of now.

Warriors vs Nuggets Prediction, Betting Analysis

I jumped on the Nuggets' first-half spread at -3.5 early, which has since moved to 4.5, with Denver becoming a double-digit favorite as of this writing.

Golden State is 3-6 ATS in first halves this year and is, again, without Curry — possibly Butler, too.

This is too good of a spot for Denver to not back them, especially early.

I don't want to mess with the points late because Golden State could backdoor cover due to NBA Cup point differential rules — unless they get blown out entirely.

I'm good with Nuggets first half at -4.5 and would probably still play it at -5. Anything beyond that is a pass.

Pick: Nuggets 1H -4.5 (-120)
