Oklahoma City Thunder

I tried in certain spots to avoid repeating bets we’ve handed out in other articles, but this is my absolute favorite play for the Thunder.

Ajay Mitchell to win Sixth Man of the Year at 6-1 is sitting right there.

The market has fundamentally shifted over the last four years—we are seeing this award go to better overall players with elite advanced metrics rather than just the guy who scores the most empty points off the bench.

Mitchell is the advanced stat darling of this category. Dylan Harper is great, but Mitchell has the clearest path to the raw stats.

OKC is going to be the best team in the league, and I am very content betting this right now to set it and forget it.

Don't get spooked when some random guy like Pelle Larsson throws up a triple-double on opening night; just ride the Mitchell ticket.

Pick: Ajay Mitchell Sixth Man of the Year (+600)

San Antonio Spurs

I am taking the straight under on 60.5 wins. This number is basically exactly what their Pythagorean expectation was last season.

Yes, they brought in Tobias Harris, and Victor Wembanyama is a year older, but the league is just a lot better overall.

The Spurs went 26-4 during an insane 30-game stretch last season, and I just don't think any team is doing that this year.

Long postseason runs are incredibly tough to follow up with elite regular seasons. I know we saw them push for Wemby to get awards last year, but there’s no reason to push anything this season.

With the league regressing to the mean, getting an under on a win total this high is exactly how you want to play the market.

Pick: Spurs Under 60.5 Wins

New York Knicks

Similar to the Spurs, this is a smash under at 52.5 wins. The Knicks are coming off a long postseason run, and the vibes are very weird right now.

Josh Hart is putting off surgery again, the Karl-Anthony Towns contract situation is looming, and their center depth is legitimately bad—I would be shocked if Andre Drummond lasts the whole season there.

Six teams had all five starters play at least 64 games last year, and the Knicks were one of them. You simply cannot bank on that level of health repeating in a much deeper Eastern Conference.

Pick: Knicks Under 52.5 Wins

Boston Celtics

I'll keep this one brief.

I am low on New York, and I am low on Philadelphia. However, I am incredibly high on Paul George as a structural fit alongside Jayson Tatum in Boston.

Getting the Celtics to win the division at +250 is easy money.

Pick: Celtics to Win Atlantic Division (+250)

Philadelphia 76ers

I want to play the Sixers under in every conceivable way—regular under, alt under 48.5, and alt under 45.5.

Joel Embiid looks rough early, and you have LeBron James who will be 42 years old during the season already dealing with injuries.

The Sixers' center depth is terrifying; if Embiid misses time, they are relying on an injured Adem Bona, and since Ariel Hukporti tore his Achilles, they'll be playing Dominick Barlow.

There are some really scary tail-end outcomes for Philly this year. My favorite way to play it is pairing the team I'm highest on against the team I'm fading: Houston to win more games than Philadelphia at +125.

Pick: Rockets to Win More Games Than 76ers (+125)

Denver Nuggets

I am fading the Nuggets slightly by taking them Over 4.5 Seed.

Every year I think the Nuggets will prioritize health and load management, and then they stubbornly play through it, so I am avoiding their win total entirely.

However, there are so many outs for teams to jump them in the standings. I have real questions about Jamal Murray's peak output and long-term durability.

If Denver slips even slightly, teams like the Timberwolves, Rockets, Lakers, or OKC should easily leapfrog them in a crowded Western Conference.

Pick: Nuggets Over 4.5 Seed

Detroit Pistons

I want exposure to Cade Cunningham this season, so I am playing him to make First-Team All-NBA at +350.

We have a consensus big-five right now (Wemby, Shai, Luka, Giannis, Jokic), but given the 65-game threshold, it is very likely that at least one of those top guys misses the mark.

I have Cade right there as the primary alternate to step up. At +350, this is a fantastic dart throw on an elite player waiting in the wings.

Pick: Cade Cunningham First-Team All-NBA (+350)

Houston Rockets

I originally loved the Rockets' playoff seed positioning props, but I have been talked into playing the win total over instead. I like Over 48.5 and 47.5 wins.

It is essentially the inverse of my Denver cap; I think Houston just has more outs to rack up regular-season victories.

The Rockets' floor is tremendously high, and the internal escalators on this roster are undeniable.

Pick: Rockets Over 48.5 Wins

Minnesota Timberwolves

This is an inventive way to play Anthony Edwards this season. I am taking him to average 30+ points at +210 and to lead the league in threes at 13-1.

Stephen Curry is the favorite, but I have major concerns about Golden State's stability.

Ant was shooting flames on catch-and-shoot threes last year, and now he has LaMelo Ball feeding him.

Trading Julius Randle for LaMelo allows Ant significantly more usage, setting him up for a monster statistical year.

Pick: Anthony Edwards to Average 30+ PPG (+210) / to Lead League in 3-Pointers Made (+1300)

Miami Heat

This is a niche prop, but I absolutely love Andrew Wiggins Under 4.5 Rebounds Per Game.

Now that Giannis Antetokounmpo is in Miami, Wiggins and Bam Adebayo are going to hoover up all the available rebounds.

Wiggins's motivation on the glass is always a question mark, and he should theoretically be leaking out to start transition breaks anyway.

Add in the potential for Pelle Larsson to cut into his minutes, and this is a sharp under.

Pick: Andrew Wiggins Under 4.5 Rebounds Per Game

Toronto Raptors

I am playing the Collin Murray-Boyles rebound ladder: 8+ rebounds at +225 and 10+ at +950.

Jakob Poeltl's back injury is a massive concern; those types of injuries don't just solve themselves.

If Poeltl is hurt or simply outplayed by CMB—which is entirely possible—we are going to see mega minutes for the young big.

Natural growth combined with sheer necessity makes these alternate lines very attainable.

Pick: Collin Murray-Boyles 8+ Rebounds (+225) / 10+ Rebounds (+950)

Los Angeles Lakers

This is one of my favorite bets on the board: Lakers Under 6.5 Seed.

I know I am on an island here, but there is a very distinct line at six in the West, and I don't see any of the lower teams jumping them.

The Lakers were a 53-win team last year. I am incredibly high on Walker Kessler and Matisse Thybulle supplementing a healthy Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves — and they are built perfectly to surround a heliocentric star with capable defensive depth like Quentin Grimes and Collin Sexton.

Pick: Lakers Under 6.5 Seed

Indiana Pacers

I am playing an alt-under for the Pacers at 39.5 wins (+257).

Tyrese Haliburton is amazing, but he is coming off a brutal Achilles injury, and placing the entire offensive burden on him during a long recovery is a recipe for disaster.

Additionally, Ivica Zubac regressed slightly last year.

The Eastern Conference is incredibly deep, and someone has to fall out. The Pacers have a very reasonable route to being a sub-.500 team if the wheels fall off.

Pick: Pacers Alternate Under 39.5 Wins (+257)

Atlanta Hawks

I am backing Quin Snyder for Coach of the Year at 21-1.

The lineup data for Atlanta after their trade deadline acquisitions last year was genuinely elite. If those numbers are real, this could legitimately be one of the best teams in the East.

The Hawks are projected in the low 40s for wins, but if Snyder guides them to the low 50s, he will have a strong narrative case for the award.

Pick: Quin Snyder Coach of the Year (+2100)

Orlando Magic

This is essentially a bet on the Magic being healthier this season. I am betting Desmond Bane to go Under 19.5 points per game.

Bane's usage drops off significantly when everyone is actually in the lineup — and he only averaged 20.1 points last year while the team dealt with massive injury gaps.

If Orlando stays intact, Bane's scoring volume should inherently regress.

Pick: Desmond Bane Under 19.5 PPG

Portland Trail Blazers

I am playing the exact division finish: Portland to finish 5th in the Northwest at 2-1.

To my eyes, the talent simply does not meld together. They have a Damian Lillard and Ja Morant backcourt that places an insane defensive burden on Jrue Holiday. Add in terrible ownership vibes and a rookie head coach in Micah Nori, and things look grim.

You can also play this as a direct win-total head-to-head taking Utah to win more games than Portland.

Pick: Trail Blazers Exact 5th Place in Division (+200)

Phoenix Suns

I am taking Devin Booker Under 26.3 points per game. The books essentially rolled out his average from last year, leaving it completely unadjusted.

With Jalen Green playing significantly more minutes and Dillon Brooks morphing into a higher-usage player, there are simply too many mouths to feed.

Green's presence alone will likely cause Booker's raw point totals to drop.

Pick: Devin Booker Under 26.3 PPG

Charlotte Hornets

I am taking the mineshaft alternate under on the Hornets.

Injuries are already popping up, and the tanking structure in the 8-to-12 seed range is going to incentivize dropping games late.

I am a massive LaMelo Ball believer, and taking him out of this offense is a devastating blow.

Even with Coby White, I expect this unit to struggle mightily without Ball's creation.

Pick: Hornets Alternate Win Total Unders

Golden State Warriors

Similar to Charlotte, I am playing the mineshaft alternate under on Golden State, but I like this one even more.

The Warriors have a fundamentally lower floor now. Kristaps Porzingis has no timeline to return, pulling $20 million of value right off the table. They are forced to rely on guys like Charles Bassey starting at center, and I am not high on Brandin Podziemski.

The bottom could completely drop out for Golden State this season.

Pick: Warriors Alternate Win Total Unders

Utah Jazz

I am taking Will Hardy for Coach of the Year at 12-1.

This market stays incredibly flat before the season, and it frequently misprices exactly this type of team. Utah has been building quietly and is ready to pop.

If the Jazz simply jump 10 wins over their preseason total, Hardy will have a narrative advantage as the well-liked coach who finally got a rebuilding roster to win — similarly to how Mark Daigneault winning two years ago for Thunder.

Pick: Will Hardy Coach of the Year (+1200)

Washington Wizards

This is fundamentally a bet against Anthony Davis' health and future in Washington. I am taking Alex Sarr to average 9+ rebounds at +500.

The Wizards kept Sarr's minutes low previously, but if they unleash him for 30+ minutes, he should easily hit this number.

If AD misses time or is traded amid his lack of an extension, Sarr will be able to completely monopolize the glass in Washington.

Pick: Alex Sarr 9+ Rebounds Per Game (+500)

Dallas Mavericks

I love Cooper Flagg to average 25+ points per game at +370.

This century, only 10 rookies have averaged 20+ points, and their average second-year jump is 2.34 points. The guys who jumped by at least five points? Luka, LeBron, and KD.

Flagg had 21 last year, meaning a 5-point leap gets him to 26.

Kyrie Irving returning will cut into his usage, but it should dramatically help his efficiency, creating an easy path to elite scoring volume.

Pick: Cooper Flagg 25+ PPG (+370)

Chicago Bulls

I am targeting Matas Buzelis to average 20+ points per game.

The Bulls are actively embracing the rebuild and own their draft pick, meaning they will be incentivized to prioritize development.

Buzelis is going to play big minutes, and Josh Giddey's playmaking is going to dime him up all over the court.

With Norman Powell as a prime mid-season trade candidate, Buzelis's usage should only increase.

Pick: Matas Buzelis 20+ PPG

Memphis Grizzlies

This is my favorite team future for the season: Memphis to make the West Play-In Tournament at +320.

There is a massive gap below the top six teams in the West.

The Grizzlies have the third-easiest schedule over their first 20 games; if they jump out to a 12-8 start, they can coast on .500 ball and lock up a spot.

Ty Jerome raises their ceiling, and Cameron Boozer is the ultimate floor-raising rookie.

Pick: Grizzlies to Make West Play-In (+320)

Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers are gross to bet right now, but I found a DraftKings special I love: Darius Garland 23+ PPG & 8+ APG paired with Keaton Wagler 15+ PPG at 22-1.

Garland posted these exact numbers early in his Cleveland career, and this starting lineup has incredibly low usage around him.

The Clippers are going to empower Wagler to shoot in a rebuilding year, making 22-1 a fun dart throw on a tricky roster.

Pick: Darius Garland 23+ PPG & 8+ APG / Keaton Wagler 15+ PPG (+2200)

New Orleans Pelicans

I have absolutely zero faith in the Pelicans' organization, coaching staff, or players. I want nothing to do with them.

Since I needed one bet for this team, I am simply fading them by taking Memphis Head-to-Head to win more games than New Orleans at -165.

Pick: Grizzlies to Win More Games Than Pelicans (-165)

Milwaukee Bucks

I am taking Kel'el Ware to average 12+ rebounds per game at +440.

Ware's per-minute production is entirely psycho—he averaged 9 rebounds in just 22 minutes last season.

If Myles Turner gets dealt or benched, Ware will easily command 27-30 minutes.

There are going to be plenty of missed shots in Milwaukee for him to clean up on the offensive glass.

Pick: Kel'el Ware 12+ Rebounds Per Game (+440)

Brooklyn Nets

I am playing the Nets Over 24.5 wins, but strictly through a prediction market so I can cash out mid-season.

I think the roster and coaching staff are decent enough to start 7-14 and look respectable early. However, because they don't own their draft pick, the Nets are prime candidates for a massive mid-season sell-off.

I want the early upside with the flexibility to bail.

Pick: Nets Over 24.5 Wins

Sacramento Kings

I am taking Darius Acuff to make the All-Rookie First Team at 2-1.

Acuff has the best route to high usage of any rookie in this class. Playing next to a low-usage guy like Ben Simmons is going to allow him to score as much as he wants.

With the 65-game threshold likely knocking out at least one top contender, Acuff has the ideal statistical floor to slide into that First-Team slot.

Pick: Darius Acuff to Make All-Rookie First Team (+200)

Cleveland Cavaliers

I am under on New York and Philly, but Cleveland has the highest regular-season ceiling of the remaining contenders.

So, I am taking the Cavs to secure the 1-seed in the East at +900.

In an 80-minute sample last year, the Cavs' core four posted an absurd +25.2 net rating, and Jarrett Allen looked incredible playing next to James Harden.

Peyton Watson is definitely the best fifth starter they've had, and their depth is versatile with guys like Tyrese Proctor.

Three extra wins could easily secure the top seed, making 9-1 a phenomenal value.

Pick: Cavaliers 1-Seed in the East (+900)
