Grizzlies vs Warriors NBA Preview

Points. We're expecting a lot of points.

This is the highest over/under total of the night.

Golden State is 2-1 on the year and coming off a blowout loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, but that was two days ago.

Two nights of rest for an older team could do wonders, and they hope it will tonight against the 2-1 Memphis Grizzlies, who beat up on the short-handed Indiana Pacers on Saturday, 128-103.

Listed on the injury report for Memphis: Zach Edey, Vince Williams Jr., Ty Jerome, Brandon Clarke and Scotty Pippen Jr, all of whom are expected to be out.

Golden State will be without Al Horford and De'Anthony Melton.

In this game, I have three props on points.

Grizzlies vs Warriors Prediction, Betting Analysis

First, we'll start with Stephen Curry over 26.5 points.

Curry has scored 42 and 35 in his last two outings this season. To start the year, he had just 23 points, but that came in an early blowout win against the Lakers, where he took only 14 shots in 32 minutes. He had 35 points in 27 minutes last game on 22 shots, and while the truth might lie somewhere in the middle, the latter is more likely if we get the pace and overall offensive environment we anticipate tonight. Memphis ranks fourth in pace this season, and the Warriors will undoubtedly benefit from playing faster — especially with a rest advantage.

Because of that pace, I'm also in on Ja Morant over 23.5 points. I don't like it as much at 24.5, but I'd still consider it. Morant has gone way under in back-to-back games, scoring 19 points against Indy on Saturday while shooting just 5-for-14, one night after going 4-for-16 for 12 points. How often do we get Morant's line at 23.5 points? He hasn't exceeded 30 minutes yet, but given Memphis' pace, the justified implied total and his 32.9% usage rate (12th in the NBA), this feels like a good spot to back him — hopefully getting there on volume at minimum.

Lastly, our biggest edge on Action Pro is Buddy Hield over 8.5 points. Hield had a short leash against Portland in a blowout loss, finishing with just two points in 12 minutes. But he scored 17 and 11 points in the two games before that, logging 22 and 23 minutes respectively. Pace? Shooting? Bounce-back spot? Yes, yes and yes. He took 10 threes in the first game and seven in the second, before just one in the last game, which won't be a constant.

Picks: Stephen Curry over 26.5 points, Buddy Hield over 8.5 points, Ja Morant over 23.5 points
