Heat vs Bulls NBA Preview

The Bulls provided their fans with a nerve-wracking week as they concluded their road trip.

On Sunday, they fell to the Jazz 150-147 in double overtime. Then, they let double-digit fourth quarter leads slip away against both the Nuggets and Trail Blazers.

However, they held on to win both games to secure a split on their road trip.

They did get Coby White back on the trip and he scored 27 points with eight assists against Denver with 25 points and seven assists against Portland.

Tonight, he is listed as questionable as the Bulls play the Wizards tomorrow. However, if tonight is the game he plays, he will likely be in the 26-28 minute range once again.

Before the Bulls can deal with the Wizards, they may have another track meet with the Heat.

The Bulls rank third in pace while the Heat lead the league after ranking 27th last season.

Despite the much faster tempo, head coach Erik Spoelstra has not let his team lose their defensive identity this season as Miami ranks ninth in defensive rating.

The team has gotten off to a 9-6 start and Tyler Herro has yet to debut this season after earning his first All-Star appearance last season. That may change soon as he is targeting Monday for his return.

Norman Powell has picked up the slack after being acquired from the Clippers in the offseason. The 32-year-old is averaging 25.4 points and four rebounds per game on 49/47/93 shooting splits.

When Herro returns, Spoelstra will have to figure out how to split the backcourt minutes between Herro, Powell, and defensive stopper Davion Mitchell. However, it is certainly a problem to have.

The Heat got their other All-Star, Bam Adebayo, back following a two-game absence. He had 20 points and seven rebounds against the Warriors, nearly matching his averages (19.9 points and eight rebounds) for the season.

Tonight, they will not have Andrew Wiggins or Nikola Jovic.

Heat vs Bulls Prediction, Betting Analysis

Miami ranks third in the NBA in points per game while Chicago is fourth.

This game will have a lot of points because of the pace these teams play at, but they actually both are middle of the pack in terms of offensive rating.

Miami's advantage in this game will come on defensive end as it ranks ninth in defensive rating while the Bulls are 20th.

The Heat will be looking for its first regular season victory over the Bulls since December of 2023, but because of the Play-In Tournament, these teams have split the last 10 meetings.

The Heat enter tonight's game having won five of their last seven games and are 10-5-1 against the spread this season. Their defensive edge in this game may earn them another cover tonight.

Powell may carry the offense once again as he has scored 20 points in 10 of 12 games this season. While with the Clippers, Powell lit the Bulls up for 27 points in his last game against them.

A few of his baskets may be set up by Mitchell, who has had at least six assists in 11 of 15 games this season. He has had eight assists in each of his last three games against the Bulls.

Josh Giddey has recorded a triple-double in two of his last four games against the Bulls while recording 35+ points, rebounds, and assists in all four games. He has cleared 35+ PRA in eight of his last 10 games.

If White plays, I like him 25+ points and assists. White has had 20 points in five of his last eight games against Miami.

Pick: Heat +2.5 (-112, DraftKings)
