We have three NBA props for this Monday, and our staff of basketball betting experts is focused on key players who could be in line for noteworthy performances in tonight's Game 1 between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics.
The Knicks look to pick up their first win against the Celtics this season on Monday night. While the stakes are higher, we can dive into the player prop market for some value.
Continue below for my NBA player props for Monday, May 5.
NBA Player Props for Monday, May 5
- Josh Hart Over 3.5 FGs Made / Over 9.5 FGs Attempted (0.5 units each)
- Sam Hauser Over 0.5 Three-Pointers Made
- Kristaps Porzingis Over 16.5 Points
The Celtics continuously allow Josh Hart to try to beat them and sag off defensively. They do not roll with him when he is a screener and will double off him if he's on the perimeter.
Hart will beat them sometimes and just gets looks in transition as well.
He has made four or more FGs in six straight against Boston, and his FG attempts are popping as well, with 14, 14, 16, 6, 15, and 10 in those six games.
Pick: Josh Hart Over 3.5 Field Goals Made (-155, 0.5-units), Over 9.5 FGA (+110, 0.5-units)
Sam Hauser has been a thorn in New York’s side all season. The Knicks tend to help off of players, and their rotations are not the most crisp defensively.
Hauser has five or more points and one or more threes in six straight against the Knicks. While his minutes may be limited because of the playoff rotation, he still should see at least 10 minutes on the floor.
He’s surpassed this in the last two games against Orlando in Round 1, and looking at the juice, I’ll grab over 0.5 3s.
Pick: Sam Hauser Over 0.5 Three-Pointers Made (-140)
Porzingis always gets up to play his old team. Now, in a playoff setting, I expect even more intensity.
Porzingis last scored 34 points against the Knicks, but he has crushed them overall. He’s averaged 21.9 ppg against NY since 2022. Even on the season as a whole, KP has averaged 18.7 ppg and exceeded this line in 70% of games.
He was inconsistent last round against Orlando; however, the Knicks can be weak against the Center position. I’d expect a strong start to this series from Porzingis.
Pick: Kristaps Porzingis Over 16.5 Points (-125)
