Knicks vs Bucks NBA Preview

The Knicks are coming off a tough loss in Miami, where they were, frankly, outplayed from end to end. Was it the South Beach flu?

Don't know, but the Knicks weren't as dominant as they appeared — for stretches — in their first two home games against Cleveland and Boston.

This is their first game against Giannis (future Knicks?) Antetokounmpo this season. And Giannis has been on a tear.

The 2-1 Knicks will face a Giannis who is averaging a preposterous 36-17-7 line while shooting nearly 70% from the field.

The Bucks have looked good this first week, especially in their win over the Raptors in Toronto, and they hung with the Cavaliers until ultimately losing by five.

On the injury report, Kevin Porter Jr. is out, while Kyle Kuzma and Cole Anthony are questionable for Milwaukee.

For New York, Karl-Anthony Towns, Guerschon Yabusele and Deuce McBride are all questionable, while Mitchell Robinson remains out.

Knicks vs Bucks Prediction, Betting Analysis

The Knicks are just better, and I think this is a Knicks bounce-back spot from the possible South Beach flu.

Towns potentially being out could change things, but otherwise, he's been playing through a quad injury to this point, and they haven't had Robinson yet.

One of the Knicks hallmarks in recent years has been their road prowess. Another has been that they just own this match-up.

The Knicks have beaten the Bucks in five straight games, going back to Christmas Day in 2023.

In those five games, Milwaukee — which has arguably gotten worse roster-wise since — only scored beyond 109 once, which was on the aforementioned Christmas Day matchup.

Even with injury scares, the Knicks have been deploying deeper rotations to start the year, with Mike Brown using two-way Trey Jemison as part of an 11-man rotation on opening night, which he's since narrowed to a still legitimate 10-deep ever since.

The Bucks are really going nine deep — and just seven last game.

Plus, the Knicks remain much more versatile in their starting lineup, with Jalen Brunson, KAT, OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges serving as a match-up problem for Milwaukee, who will likely struggle to defend this quartet.

Anthony is Milwaukee's second-leading scorer and is shooting an insane 68/43 from the field and from deep.

The fear is that if Giannis doesn't go off, Milwaukee doesn't have a shot, and for the Knicks, you have multiple takeover options.

I'll take the Knicks moneyline, and I'll lean over on Jalen Brunson's line of 27.5 points.

Brunson has scored 36, 38, 43, and 44 in four of his last five against Milwaukee, averaging north of 35 points during that stretch.

Good luck, Gary Trent Jr., Ryan Rollins, AJ Green, and whoever else may get some of this.

Pick: Knicks ML (-125, bet365)

Lean: Jalen Brunson Over 27.5 points
