Auburn vs Arizona College Basketball Betting Preview
Arizona Basketball
Arizona has played a total gauntlet so far, beating Florida, UConn, and UCLA. This is the first home game versus a non-buy-game opponent for Arizona in 2025-26.
The Wildcats are one of the toughest teams in the sport with the best front court in America.
Koa Peat is the story for the Wildcats. The freshman phenom plays nothing like a freshman. He's physical, he's skilled, and he has a soft touch from the mid-range. He leads Arizona with 15.6 ppg and also adds a few assists.
The Cats also have a dominant center to pair with Peat at all times. Tobe Awaka is averaging 10.6 rebounds in 19.9 minutes, and 7-footer Motiejus Krivas averages 10 ppg in 22 mpg. That pair is licking their chops for this matchup.
Tommy Lloyd is well aware of what his team is good at and not good at. The team doesn't have many shooters, so they shoot 3s only 27% of the time. The Cats are terrific at crashing the glass, grabbing offensive rebounds on 41% of their misses.
Scoring on Arizona is also a chore due to its length. It holds teams to 42% shooting on 2s, so teams have to focus more on a perimeter approach.
The Wildcats' guard play isn't too shabby, either. Jaden Bradley is one of the better point guards in America, averaging 14.3 ppg with superb perimeter defense. Anthony Dell'Orso is the best shooter on the roster and freshman Brayden Burries has room to grow. If Burries develops into a good scorer, he adds another element to Arizona's attack.
Auburn Basketball
Auburn began the season with an overtime game versus Bethune-Cookman, but Steven Pearl has gotten train on the tracks. The Tigers have just a pair of losses to Houston and Michigan and are coming off a two-game winning streak over NC State and St John's
The Tigers have two terrific scorers who could change the game in Tucson. Keyshawn Hall is a mismatch with his ball-handling and scoring creativity on the wing. He averages 21.8 ppg, leading the team. They'll need Tahaad Pettiford to get on track here, as he's shooting 35% from the field and 28% from 3. Scoring on Jaden Bradley won't be an easy task, though.
Defense has been the real problem for Auburn. Using Torvik, Auburn ranks 112th in defensive efficiency. Hall and Pettiford are both very poor defenders, which contributes to the problems.
In this matchup, I'd be more concerned about rebounding. The Tigers have gotten crushed on the glass, ranking 247th in defensive rebounding rate. They'll be giving up a lot of size to the Wildcats, as Elyjah Freeman — the starter at the four is 6-8, 185. He'll have to defend Peat, and that's a disaster waiting to happen.
The X-Factor is big man Keshawn Murphy. He's a solid big man, but he's very foul-prone. He struggled with fouls in the Michigan and St John's game, which is a bit worrisome heading into this one.
Auburn vs. Arizona Betting Analysis
I'm backing the Wildcats at home.
They'll push the tempo — a staple under Coach Lloyd, and I don't see how Auburn can corral this group of Arizona bigs.
Just look at how much Florida struggled when them — and it has an elite interior.
Auburn is less stable on the inside, and it'll be a big problem here.
My Pick: Arizona -8.5 (play to -10)
