There are certain home environments in college basketball that cause serious issues for opposing teams.
Most are overrated in terms of home records against the spread (ATS). But that's not the case for Rutgers basketball and their home games at the RAC.
Rutgers is 10-1 ATS and 9-2 straight-up as a home underdog over the last three seasons.
The Scarlet Knights are a 3.5-point underdog to the Illinois Fighting Illini at the RAC tonight.
Rutgers has fired off three straight wins over Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin. All three of those teams are inside the top 35 in KenPom. The Knights are now 15-9 overall and 9-5 in the conference. They still need some big wins to get into the tournament, according to ESPN's Joe Lunardi.
Illinois currently sits atop the Big Ten with an 11-3 record in conference and 18-6 overall. They are ranked as the No. 12 team in the country in the AP Poll.
