Miami vs Georgetown College Basketball Betting Preview
In the consolation game of the ESPN Events Invitational's Magic Bracket, Miami and Georgetown both attempt to bounce back from losses to BYU and Dayton, respectively.
The Canes entered this season with new head coach Jai Lucas and a plethora of transfers like Tre Donaldson, Tru Washington, Ernest Udeh Jr. and Malik Reneau. So far, the Canes have yet to record a power-conference win, losing to the aforementioned BYU and in-state rival Florida.
Meanwhile, Ed Cooley has the trajectory continuing to point upwards for Georgetown, as the Hoyas are 5-1 with victories over Maryland and Clemson to start the new campaign.
Georgetown's defense has been solid to start, ranking 77th in adjusted defensive efficiency, via KenPom, but that shouldn't matter towards this bet.
According to Tanner McGrath's projections, which have been strong against totals to start this season, this line is priced over three points too low.
That creates nice value on this over in a game between two teams playing back-to-back days.
