Hawaii vs. California Preview, Same-Game Parlay
Hawaii enjoyed a strong season, finishing with an 8-4 record. The Rainbow Warriors closed the year on a positive note, winning five of their final seven games.
Las Vegas native Micah Alejado led the offense under center, throwing for 2,832 yards with 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
California, meanwhile, enters the matchup at 7-5. The Golden Bears fired head coach Justin Wilcox following the regular season, and Oregon defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi will take over as head coach after the season.
Hawaii native Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele leads Cal’s offense, passing for 3,117 yards with 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Can he capitalize on his return to the island? Let's take a look.
Over/Under Pick: Over 50.5
I expect a lot of points in this matchup.
Both offenses were clicking late in the season. California averaged 26.4 points per game over its final five contests, while Hawaii averaged 28.8 over that same span.
Defensive issues were present on both sides throughout the season. Hawaii ranked 63rd nationally in points allowed per game at 25.4, while California ranked 87th, giving up 28.6 points per game.
With two capable quarterbacks facing below-average defenses, I expect both offenses to produce and push this game over the total of 50.5 points.
California Player Prop: Kendrick Raphael Anytime Touchdown
Running back Kendrick Raphael led the Golden Bears with 853 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns this season.
The junior was one of the most effective short-yardage backs in college football, consistently converting scoring opportunities near the goal line. In a game where I expect plenty of offense, I like his chances of finding the end zone once again.
Raphael scored a touchdown in eight of California’s 12 games this season, making him a strong anytime touchdown option in this matchup.
