Michigan Next Coach Odds, Predictions
Odds are via Kalshi and update every hour.
Kalen DeBoer Odds
The top option, according to the odds, is Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer. While a move from one of the most storied programs in the SEC might seem like a lateral one for DeBoer, it might do him some good to get off the Crimson Tide hot seat and out of the shadow of his predecessor, Nick Saban.
DeBoer rose through the FBS coaching ranks quite quickly, taking his first head coaching gig at Fresno State in the Mountain West Conference in 2020, and holding that title for two seasons before parlaying his success into a gig at the University of Washington. Thanks in part to his development of transfer QB Michael Penix Jr. and young receiver Rome Odunze, DeBoer took the Huskies all the way to the National Championship Game in 2023, where Michigan then trounced them.
Although he has managed to lead Alabama to the No. 9 seed in the 2025 College Football Playoff, DeBoer's job in Tuscaloosa still seems to be in question. He might take this opportunity to jump to another successful program, where the pressure to replace a legendary coach isn't as high.
Jedd Fisch Odds
Coming in right behind DeBoer on the odds table is his successor at Washington, Jedd Fisch. Unlike DeBoer, however, Fisch does have clear ties to Michigan, having served as the school's quarterbacks coach, wide receivers coach, and passing game coordinator from 2015 to 2016 under coach Jim Harbaugh.
Fisch has experience in both the college game and the NFL, having served in a variety of assistant and head coaching roles since 2002. His first lead gig came in 2017 as the interim head coach at UCLA, and then he served as the head coach of Arizona from 2021 to 2023. His 2025 Washington Huskies went 8-4 in the regular season and earned themselves a spot in the LA Bowl against Boise State.
Kenny Dillingham Odds
Third on the list is the least experienced head coach of the three, current Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham.
Dillingham rose to prominence as the offensive coordinator of the Oregon Ducks in 2022, the first year of head coach Dan Lanning's tenure. Dillingham helped develop transfer quarterback Bo Nix during his time at Auburn, then reunited with the former SEC Rookie of the Year in Eugene.
Dillingham returned to his native Arizona in 2023 to coach the Sun Devils and led them to a Big 12 Championship in 2024, earning himself Big 12 Coach of the Year honors in the process. His offensive-minded approach would be a huge plus for the Wolverines, who are looking to develop prized quarterback recruit Bryce Underwood, who is coming off a solid freshman campaign.
