Las Vegas is known for its glitz, glamour, and incredible architecture, but the construction of the Hard Rock Guitar Hotel is set to raise the bar yet again.
Transforming the site of the former Mirage Hotel and Casino, this awe-inspiring development is on track to become one of the most talked-about additions to the Las Vegas Strip.
Not only does it boast a unique design, but it is set to redefine the Sin City skyline. It could also help reverse the current tourism decline there.
A Guitar That Reaches the Sky
The standout feature of this development is its anticipated guitar-shaped tower, which will rise to approximately 660 feet and resemble a massive guitar complete with body, neck, and strings.
As of now, 36 of the planned 42 stories have been completed, showcasing steady progress and bringing this architectural marvel closer to fruition.
Key Details on the Guitar Tower:
- Shape and Height: The standout feature is the iconic guitar-shaped hotel tower, designed to resemble a guitar (with a body, neck, and strings). It will rise about 660 feet tall.
- Structure: The lower 100 feet make up the first five floors (likely including base amenities), while the upper ~560 feet are dedicated to guest rooms.
- Rooms: The tower will house 675 hotel rooms and suites.
- Stories: Planned for 42 stories total.
- Current Progress: In addition to the 36 stories that have already been poured (concrete completed for the structural frame), nearly two dozen upper floors now feature exterior cladding with two shades of blue glass, which will cover the whole facade for that signature shimmering look.
With 675 rooms and suites, the hotel is designed for people who want a fancy stay, offering views that are just as stunning as the building itself.

This is the Second Hard Rock Guitar Hotel
Although this is not the first guitar hotel that Hard Rock has built, it will be bigger than its flagship property—the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood (in Hollywood, Florida, near Fort Lauderdale).
It's widely known as The Guitar Hotel because it too has a guitar-shaped tower. It is the world's first (and currently only) hotel designed to resemble a massive Gibson Les Paul guitar (back-to-back guitars for symmetry).
The Hollywood property opened in 2019. The hotel is about 450 feet tall (35 stories), and houses 638 guest rooms and suites.

A Rock 'n' Roll Resort
In true Hard Rock fashion, the hotel will be steeped in rock 'n' roll flair, complete with its trademark music memorabilia. The resort will also feature other amenities, including:
- Expanded casino floors
- New dining and retail spaces
- Entertainment venues
But what might really stand out to visitors or passerby is the hotel’s nighttime illumination. Extensive LED lighting will cover the facade, with potential light shows choreographed to music. These "guitar strings" will shoot beams into the sky, creating a visual spectacle visible from miles away—a fitting addition to the city known for its dazzling lights and extravagant displays.

When Will The Hard Rock Guitar Hotel Open?
With a budget nearing $5 billion, the Hard Rock Guitar Hotel is not just another building—it's the largest active casino-hotel project on the Strip.
Set to cover over 1 million square feet, this gigantic endeavor will dramatically alter the skyline and revitalize what visitors can expect from the Las Vegas experience. Scheduled to open in late 2027, this rock-themed resort will no doubt be an essential stop for anyone visiting or living in Las Vegas.
If you're planning a trip to the city or simply fascinated by its architectural innovations, the Hard Rock Guitar Hotel is one to watch. It's not just building a hotel—it's crafting a new landmark that celebrates music, light, and luxury.
Prepare yourself for an unforgettable addition to the Las Vegas Strip that truly promises to rock your world.
