Report: Mike Trout to Undergo Surgery for Meniscus Tear

Mike Trout’s season is once again derailed by injury. The 11-time all-star is set to undergo surgery on his knee for a torn meniscus, according to ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez. Trout's recovery time is unknown, but he is expected to miss significant time.

According to Gonzalez's report, Trout was dealing with knee soreness in Monday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies but played the entire game in spite of the discomfort. An MRI on Tuesday revealed the meniscus tear.
Trout was batting .220 although he already had 10 home runs and 14 RBI on the season. He also racked up six stolen bases which is the most since the 2019 season.
His 10 home runs had him tied for Major League lead for home runs with the Orioles Gunnar Henderson. The Angels are second to last in the AL West with an 11-18 record. Trout had played every game of the season thus far, which has been difficult for the oft-injured star. Entering this season, Trout played in 65% of the Angels' games over the past seven seasons.
The three-time AL MVP was +850 at DraftKings to win the MVP once again before news of his knee injury was announced. His odds have dropped to +2500 after the injury was revealed.
