Carolina owns the NFL's worst run defense, and Josh Jacobs should get a heavy workload. The Panthers have allowed 919 rushing yards through six games. Jacobs managed only 36 yards on 11 carries in Detroit, so a soft front gives him a chance to bounce back. Green Bay's defense ranks fifth in EPA per play and held Detroit to 20 points. The Packers average just 2.91 yards per carry, so this matchup gives their ground game a needed boost.
The Panthers' offense averages more points than Green Bay's, and I respect that. The Panthers also top the Packers in yards per game. Tampa Bay just exposed the holes in that roster, and tackle Taylor Moton is out. Ikem Ekwonu sits on the PUP list, and Jaycee Horn and Xavier Legette are on injured reserve. Green Bay's 65 penalties, the most in the NFL, give Carolina a path to cover.
Green Bay games lean toward the Under, with the Packers going 5-2 to the Under this season, yet ProphetX shows the Over 46.5 at 52.61%.
