Super Bowl week has finally arrived with the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday (6:30 p.m. ET, CBS) in Las Vegas.

There is plenty of content here at the Action Network to help bettors make the smartest possible Super Bowl bets, however, that's not the point of this article.

Because getting down at the best possible odds is crucial, no matter which spread and/or over/under bet(s) you're making, we decided to look at the latest lines in an attempt to predict the best strategy for locking in your bets.

Super Bowl Spread Betting Strategy

If you like the 49ers …

Lock in San Francisco at -2 and at the most affordable vig, which, at the time of writing, is -2 (-105) at DraftKings.

While the spread could always move to -1.5, you don't want this line to stretch closer to -3.

Yes, that would be a huge move, but some books, like FanDuel, are already at -2.5, and you certainly don't want to get stuck laying a field goal when the spread had been shorter than that for almost two weeks.

If you like the Chiefs …

On the other end of the spectrum, Kansas City is pushing toward +3, so why not wait?

Again, getting to the most important number in football betting may seem like a stretch, but there's no rush in grabbing +2 at the moment.

However, if you do feel the urge to lock in the Chiefs right now, be sure shop for the best number before you do so.

If you like the over …

The number 47 in NFL over/under betting is an important one, so take a gamble that the total will tick down a half-point from 47.5.

If you like the under …

Go ahead and take under 47.5.

As just mentioned, 47 is one of the more important lines when it comes to NFL totals, and getting off that number is a savvy way to play the Super Bowl under at current odds.
