Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys odds in the NFL playoffs opened with the Cowboys as 7-point favorites over the Packers. The over/under has been set at 48 total points scored between the two teams. On the moneyline, the Cowboys are -350 favorites, while the Packers are +280 to advance.

Our Director of Predictive Analytics, Sean Koerner, reveals his initial projections for the spread and over/under based on his model.

Spread: Cowboys -7 | Total: 47.5

Green Bay Packers

The Packers were 3-6 after a Week 10 loss to the Steelers but rattled off six wins in their last eight games to get into the playoffs. It’s an impressive accomplishment for a team that was supposed to be “rebuilding” with first-year starter Jordan Love under center.

Love entered Week 18 with 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, having proven that Green Bay has found yet another strong starter at quarterback. Love’s main targets in the passing game have been rookie Jayden Reed and second-year man Romeo Doubs, although the Packers will hope to have Christian Watson finally healthy for the playoffs.

The Packers’ defense has been a source of controversy this season, making the likes of Baker Mayfield and Tommy DeVito look like Patrick Mahomes and Dan Marino. The offense is humming now, though, and Green Bay is a team that no one will be excited to face in the playoffs.

Green Bay entered Week 18 at 8-8 against the spread (4-5 on the road) and 10-6 to the over.

Dallas Cowboys

The 2023-24 Cowboys are a tale of two teams: the one that plays at home and the other that has to travel. If Dallas played every game at AT&T Stadium, Dak Prescott would be the MVP frontrunner and the team would be competing with the 49ers for the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Alas, that’s not how things work.

Fortunately for the Cowboys, they’ll play their first two playoff games at home before a potential trip to San Francisco for the NFC Championship Game if both teams make it that far.

Prescott has been the star of the show for the Cowboys, entering Week 18 with a 104.2 Quarterback Rating that would be tied for his best since his rookie season in 2016. It helps having a player like wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who entered Week 18 first in receptions, second in receiving yards and third in receiving touchdowns in the NFL.

The Cowboys entered Week 18 at 9-7 against the spread and 8-8 to the over, which makes sense given their home/away offensive splits.
