Rams vs Bills Preview

The Bills head to Los Angeles for a primetime Monday Night Football matchup between two of the league's heavyweights. This game could be a Super Bowl preview and features one of Week 5's highest totals (54.5).

Los Angeles is favored at home by 3.5 points, despite the absence of offseason acquisition Myles Garrett and a 2-2 record.

Meanwhile, the Bills are 3-1 and carried by potential two-time MVP Josh Allen. The defense is one of the league's worst entering Week 5 (24th in DVOA, according to FTN), but any game with Allen healthy is competitive.

While both passing attacks may display fireworks, this game should be decided on the ground. The Bills and Rams are both top-five in rushing OL advantage vs. the opposing DL. Production from James Cook, Kyren Williams, and Blake Corum will be key to winning today's matchup.

Cook has scored a touchdown in three straight games. His Week 1 output was poor, but he faced a stout Texans front that ranks third against the run.

The Rams defense is eighth against the run, but they have not faced a high-end rushing offense since their Week 1 embarrassment in Australia against the 49ers. Cook is a good bet at -115 for an anytime TD as our first leg of tonight's parlay.

Williams has also scored in three of four games this season. The Bills are better against the run (19th) than the pass (27th), but they will be missing DT Ed Oliver.

Williams' only scoreless game this season was in Week 3 against the Broncos. However, the Rams were missing star WR Puka Nacua in that game.

The offense is nearing full strength with Nacua healthy and TE Colby Parkinson active. The more red-zone threats, the merrier for Los Angeles and its TD-happy RB. Williams' line has dropped from -180 at open to -160 for an anytime TD. Add that as another leg to today's parlay.

The final leg of this parlay will be Khalil Shakir over 45.5 receiving yards.

Shakir has only crossed this line in two of four games this season, but there's reason to believe he could do it tonight.

WR1 D.J. Moore (shoulder) is questionable after re-aggravating his stinger in Week 4. Moore could play tonight, but potentially as a decoy and/or compromised.

Shakir has a 31% target share and 3.08 yards per route against defenses running two-high safeties. The Rams run two-high at a league-average rate this season, but did not have Safety Kamren Kinchens for two games.

Kinchens' return allows the Rams to run more two-high looks if necessary against the Bills, who are projected to trail in this matchup.

Rams vs Bills Same-Game Parlay

  • James Cook Anytime TD (-115)
  • Kyren Williams Anytime TD (-160)
  • Khalil Shakir Over 45.5 Rec Yards (-112)

Parlay Odds: +464
