I actually like Jayden Daniels a lot, and I think he has a very high ceiling in this league. He enters this season after a disappointing Year 2 in which he only played seven games due to injuries (hamstring; dislocated elbow).
Kliff Kingsbury gets a lot of grief for his head coaching stint in Arizona, but people forget that he really knows what he’s doing as an offensive coordinator.
Just look at how a young Kyler Murray thrived as a rookie in that system before the injuries piled up; Kingsbury treats these dynamic rookie quarterbacks like new toys and schemes them up beautifully.
However, the Commanders' offensive line is in absolute shambles right now. They have a multitude of issues in pass protection, and that spells major trouble for a young quarterback making a road start against a loaded Philly defensive front in Week 1.
Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview: Chip on Shoulder & Axe to Grind
The Eagles are coming into this game with a chip on their shoulder and an axe to grind after how last season ended.
They went out and potentially solved their offensive coordinator issues by hiring Sean Mannion following a turbulent season of Kevin Patullo, and they boast a defense that I view as a legitimate top-five unit in the NFL. Offensively, yes, they are going to be without A.J. Brown, which is obviously a significant loss for Jalen Hurts. But this is the type of game where DeVonta Smith should absolutely go off and dominate the target share.
Philadelphia has too much overall firepower and continuity for a rebuilding divisional opponent to handle for four quarters.
