"It's coming home" is the decades-long adage that English soccer fans have sung every four years as the Three Lions chase a second World Cup trophy to follow up their success in 1966.

The inventors of modern football haven't had much luck in luring glory back to their shores, but this 2026 team has perhaps the best chance in a long time.

Powered by Harry Kane and a German tactical mastermind, is this the time they finally get it done?

Kalshi has a market for the "World Cup Winner," where traders can predict which nation will lift the trophy on July 19.

According to Kalshi, England is the second biggest favorite to win it all, and their hopes have a name and a face: Harry Kane.

The England captain has been stellar in this World Cup, notching six goals and one assist across six matches, and becoming England’s all-time top scorer at the FIFA World Cup in the process. When combined with his performances with Bayern Munich, he's reached a staggering 72 goals for club and country in the 2025–2026 season. It was enough to surpass Cristiano Ronaldo's 2011–2012 record and make him the second-highest-scoring player for a single season in the 21st century, trailing only Lionel Messi's 82-goal benchmark.

However, Kane isn't alone. Talents like Jude Bellingham, Aaron Gordon, Declan Rice, and Bukayo Saka alongside him mean the England captain spearheads perhaps the Three Lions' most talented squad since their Golden Generation of 2006.

That is all backed by the tactical nous and brilliance of German head coach Thomas Tuchel. His appointment was controversial at the time, as Germany and England share one of Europe's fiercest rivalries. However, he's since proven to be the right man for the job, leading England with top-level player management and tactical flexibility.

While England may lack France's World Cup experience, smart Kalshi traders can spot the potential.

What is Kalshi?

Different than a traditional sportsbook and available in most states, Kalshi allows users to make predictions across several unique markets, including sports, entertainment, elections, and even weather.

Also, Kalshi's refer-a-friend program is a "win-win" for prediction market traders. By inviting a friend to the platform, both you and your friend receive a $25 credit once you both meet the initial trading requirements.

Kalshi operates on a contract-based system where users buy "contracts" (priced between 1–99 cents) based on whether they believe a specific event will happen. The price of each contract fluctuates in real time based on market sentiment, and like the stock market, traders can sell positions early to lock in profits (or minimize losses).
