Aces vs. Sun Odds & Betting Predictions - May 20, 2025

In the season opener, A'ja had 31 points on reigning champions Liberty. She had a monstrous 33% usage and attempted 22 FGA with 8 free throws. Liberty had some possessions where they doubled, but whenever they didn't, she was attacking. Also, in some possessions, she was even bringing the ball up the court, as Liberty put up Fiebich to harass Chelsea Gray. Sun's new center this season is Tina Charles, and like always, it's like she takes pride in guarding 1v1. Last season, A'ja had 2/3 overs against her, with one game ending at 26 with 8/10 fts. 29 pts average, as she had 33 and 28 points in the other two over games. Sun overall played more of a single coverage defense against Mystics; rookie Kiki Iriafen scored 7/10, and Shakira Austin had 5 fga in 7 minutes. Sun only allowed 15 threes to the Mystics (who don't have anyone who is a great shooter and are a young team; I think teams should dare a little Mystics to shoot) while also giving up 30 rim attempts (way above last season's league average, which was 19) and 29 free throws. Last season, A'ja was over in 23/38 games. When she had usage in the 5% range of her usage against Liberty, she was over in 11/14 games. Sun doesn't look like they will be the top paint defense (even though Charles is their strongest defender), but against the top 4 paint defenses last season, when A'ja had 28% or higher usage, she was over in 6/9 games. I think this year's Aces squad will need another historic season from A'ja in terms of raw points per game production and this matchup looks great for her to cook! #PlayerProps
