She played 27 minutes in the opener for Dallas which would be a significant uptick from her 18.7 and 17.6 the two seasons prior. She's 30 now so not the youngest but Dallas seems to want to give her run.
Seattle is not great offensively so there should be more rebound opportunities than against the Lynx.

Couldn’t think of a better way to kick off my 20th season of WNBA betting than backing Maddy the Baddy. I have this game projected Storm -3.5 with a total of 165, so no value on the spread or total at current numbers (though I do regret not grabbing over 159.5 on open). Still, I want exposure to what should be a higher-scoring game, and Maddy’s main role is to put up points. She played a team-high 31 minutes off the bench in the opener and dropped 11 points.
With the Wings figuring out how Paige Bueckers fits, Maddy’s role as a pure scorer remains clear. She scored 9+ in 14 of 15 games last season when she played 20+ minutes. I project her for 10.6 points with a 62% chance to clear 8.5. Also sprinkled 15+ at +590 (FD) — I make that closer to +350.

In the season opener, Seattle was surprisingly blown out by Mercury without Kahleah Copper. Their offense looked poor, while they also had struggles on defense. In the end, Skylar played 29 minutes in the blow-out and scored 21 points on a monstrous 32% usage rate. Last season, she had only one game with higher usage than that, and Loyd played that game. But there is no more Loyd for Storm, and Erica Wheeler, Lexie Brown, and Zia Cooke don't look like they are enough to take on the huge hole left with Loyd.
Last season, when Skylar had more than 25% usage rate, she was over in 12/15 games which is insane hit rate. Ogwunmike should have slight decline this season in terms of athletic capabilities as she is 34, Malonga (their 2nd pick in the draft) doesn't look ready, and Katie Lou Samuelson (another offseason acquisition) got injured, so Skylar should have a huge load of their offense.
Wings played against an elite team of Lynx, but still, their defense looks bad. They allowed Courtney 25 pts while Collier scored 34. In the preseason, Jackie Young had 28 vs them. Nalyssa Smith is horrible for team defense as she is slow and doesn't return well to defend transition, Arike is not even interested to play defense sometimes, while Paige will have some rookie struggles. Ex-Dpoy Natasha Howard is gone from the roster. Carrington is solid defender, but just a screen and there is huge issue for Wings as their center McCowan is slow and not mobile. #PlayerProps
