Dream vs. Fever Preview

The Fever are riding high after beating the Sky by 35 in their season opener. Caitlin Clark led the way with a triple double, but she was far from the only contributor as four of Indiana's five starters tallied at least 15 points. Clark could be in for another big night as she's tallied 15 or more points in 26 of her past 27 games and Atlanta's defense was far from impressive in the season opener.

Speaking of the Dream, they opened the season with a 94-90 loss to the Mystics and will be playing their second consecutive road game tonight. Allisha Gray led the way with 25 points and Brittney Griner chipped in 18, but it wasn't enough as Washington surged late.

Dream vs. Fever Prediction, Betting Analysis

Yes, it was just one game, but the Fever looked really good.

Their defense, which I expected to be in the bottom half of the league, looked like it could actually be in the top half. Of course, that could just be a product of Chicago's offense, but Indiana did look much improved all the way around.

On the other hand, the Dream appear to be the same old team. They took more 3s, but when is Rhyne Howard going to pop? She took 14 shots, 12 from 3, but they looked stale. Additionally, the defense looked bad against the Mystics and Indiana will certainly be a step up.

I think the Fever will get off to a great start, so I lean toward backing them to cover the first half line.

Best Bet: Fever 1H -3.5
