Fever vs. Liberty Preview
The Indiana Fever head out on the road after hosting All-Star Weekend and face off against the New York Liberty.
Both of these teams have been dealing with significant injuries. While Jonquel Jones has finally been removed from the injury report for New York, the Fever will continue to miss Caitlin Clark (groin). Without Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston have both seen upticks in their performance; however, any matchup against the Liberty will prove difficult.
It's unclear if Jonquel Jones will be under any restrictions in her return; however, the already strong Liberty defense will certainly welcome her. The Liberty's defense improves by 16.5 points per 100 possessions with Jonquel on the floor —a truly staggering number. I'd expect the defense to be locked in with Jonquel back.
One player I'm targeting for the Liberty is Natasha Cloud. Cloud is fresh off winning the Skills Challenge, but she's been excellent in not only this matchup but for the Liberty overall.
Cloud is averaging 9.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.0 assists for the Liberty this season. Her PRA line is set at 17.5, a number she's exceeded in six of her last seven games against the Fever and in six of her past 10 games.
