Wings vs. Storm Preview

Eight games separate the Storm and the Wings in the standings, and the reason for the gap between these teams comes on the defensive end of the floor. The Storm are fifth in defensive rating and third in points allowed per game.

Seattle has been excellent at defending opposing backcourts by being aggressive in the passing lanes and heavily contesting perimeter shots. This matchup profiles as a tough one for Dallas' star — point guard Paige Bueckers.

Beuckers has come in and carried the Wings on the offensive end of the floor as she's stuffed the stat sheet. However, her ability to facilitate in this matchup will be limited as the Storm are both tough on the defensive end and the fifth-slowest team in terms of pace per 40 minutes.

On top of this, Beuckers' potential to obtain assists is also trending downward in this matchup. Dallas' top three scorers are Bueckers and her two backcourt mates, Aike Ogunbowale and DiJonai Carrington.

With Seattle also ranking third in points allowed per game, the chances of her teammates converting the looks Beuckers feeds them are slim this one.
