Carol Schram

Carol is an NHL writer for The Action Network — Based in Vancouver, she has written about the NHL, international hockey and women's hockey for outlets including The New York Times, The Hockey News and Bleacher Report — Carol also covers the business of hockey for Forbes SportsMoney.

Carol started collecting live NHL game data in the days of dial-up, before Connor McDavid was born. A quarter-century of detailed viewings has given her deep insight into a generation's worth of player tendencies, game situations and emerging trends — all valuable tools when it's time to size up each day's betting lines. Ten years ago, Carol added hockey writing to her toolbox. Assignment highlights have included the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoff bubble in Edmonton and five IIHF World Championships in Europe.

With a bachelor's degree in English and and MBA from the University of British Columbia, Carol can find significant numerical indicators, then explain how they impact sports betting outlooks. She also has a broadcasting diploma, and has worked on air and been a writer for radio.
