The third round of the 2026 Valspar Championship gets underway on Saturday at Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead Course) in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Sungjae Im leads the Valspar Championship after the second round at nine-under par. He holds a one-stroke lead over the rest of the field, but the tournament remains wide open with two days remaining.
Here is my pick for the Valspar Championship Round 3 best bet for Saturday.
Valspar Championship Round 3 Odds, Best Bet
Xander Schauffele Top 10 (+170 at DraftKings)
Xander Schauffele has finished inside the top 10 in two of his past three tournaments. He enters the weekend T27, and at +170, it's worth taking a shot on him to do so once again.
Putting is arguably the most important factor this week as roughly 38% of strokes gained at Copperhead come on the greens, a high mark by PGA Tour standards. Last year, each of the top three finishers ranked inside the top three in the field in strokes gained: putting.
No other strokes-gained category showed a similar trend.
This profile favors Schauffele, who ranks in the 83rd percentile on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: putting. It is therefore not surprising that he has performed well at this event, finishing inside the top 12 in each of his three career appearances at Copperhead, including his T5 finish just two years ago.
Success on the greens is often supported by strong long-iron play. Last season, 20.7% of approach shots came from the 175-200-yard range, the highest distribution of any 25-yard grouping at this course.
On the PGA Tour this season, Schauffele ranks 33rd in birdie or better percentage on approach shots from that 25-yard range.
