Derek Carty’s Cubs vs Rockies Prediction, Betting Analysis

Horton is a guy who doesn’t have a long leash. In the minors he was always more of an 80-pitch type, and even since being called up this year, the Cubs haven’t really let him go deep. He’s a young pitcher, and as the season goes on they’re probably trying to reel him in a bit, keep him healthy for the stretch run and for the future.

Lately, the leash has been even shorter. In his last five starts, he’s gone over 75 pitches just once. Now he’s heading into Coors Field to face the Rockies. Their offense is a little better than people give it credit for, and the ballpark is obviously a tough environment for pitchers.

At 15.5 outs, we’re getting a nice side of the number. He can throw five innings, leave the game, and the under still hits as long as he doesn’t go back out for the sixth. Given the pitch count limits and the Coors Field factor, I like this one quite a bit.

Pick: Cade Horton Under 15.5 Pitching Outs (-165, DraftKings)
