Brewers vs Dodgers MLB Betting Preview

Brewers vs Dodgers Pick, Betting Analysis
The Brewers lead the Dodgers by two games heading to LA. If they win Game 3, they'll hold the ultimate advantage with Game 4 looming.
Milwaukee will downgrade a bit in the starting pitcher department with Robert Gasser making his first NLCS outing. Gasser finished the year strong, posting a 2.50 ERA over 35 innings in his last seven outings. In his first postseason outing, he held the Padres to one run over four innings.
He also posted a 3.87 ERA with a 4.23 xERA in 109 1/3 innings. Gasser won't blow anyone away with his raw stuff, but he ranks in the 93rd percentile in average exit velocity and 82nd in hard-hit rate.
What can you expect from Gasser here? Probably not more than four or five innings. Pat Murphy had a short leash with Logan Henderson in Game 2, and Gasser's might be shorter. The Brewers' pen is such an advantage. Murphy can rely on Abner Uribe, Aaron Ashby, and Trevor Megill for more than three outs if needed. Plus, Dustin May can give length. Their pen pitched 15+ outs in the first two games and allowed no runs.
Offensively, the Brewers had a hot final month, ranking fourth in MLB with a 118 wRC+ in September. You shouldn't expect crazy power from Milwaukee, but it draws walks, limits strikeouts, and steals bags.
William Contreras has carried this Milwaukee offense in the NLCS, hitting .429 with a homer in two games. The biggest shift from the NLDS to the NLCS is Brice Turang getting hot. He has three hits in seven ABs after hitting .067 in the NLDS.
Opposing Gasser is Blake Snell, a veteran with plenty of postseason starts under his belt. The thing about Snell: He can dominate anyone, but he can also beat himself. That happened in the NLDS, as Snell went 3 2/3 innings with five strikeouts and five walks against the Braves.
Snell pitched well in limited big league action this year, posting a 1.90 ERA with a 2.17 xERA and 1.72 FIP. It's hard to get hits against Snell, especially for slug. That's why Milwaukee has to work ABs like they always do.
While Snell didn't pitch against the Brewers this year, you have to wonder how his stuff will play against them. He hunts chases with his high fastball and the tunnel with his curveball. Meanwhile, the Brewers excel at making pitchers work. Snell could struggle if Milwaukee sticks to their game plan.
I'm downgrading this Los Angeles offense right now. Will I pay for doubting such a talented roster? Maybe. But with Shohei Ohtani playing at less than 100%, this Dodgers lineup isn't the same. He's hitting.188 in the playoffs, and there are rumors that he might get benched for rookie Josue De Paula.
The only Dodgers who have performed well in the 2026 playoffs are Freddie Freeman, Kyle Tucker, and Max Muncy. Those are the only three Dodgers with an OPS above .700 in the playoffs. With pivotal pieces such as Will Smith, Mookie Betts, and Ohtani struggling like they are, I have to look at the Dodgers' offense differently.
I think Milwaukee uses pitching depth to its advantage and takes Game 3 as a road underdog in LA.
