Today, we will create a custom No Runs First Inning (NRFI) bet by analyzing the performances of two pitchers in two different games. This kind of bet can be found at sportsbooks such as DraftKings and Barstool Sportsbook.

This specific type of NRFI bet is different from a traditional NRFI as it combines two separate half-innings from two different games. This approach allows you to tailor the bet to your preferences.

Our first NRFI selection today will be Kyle Bradish of the Baltimore Orioles. This season, Bradish holds the best NRFI record in baseball – an impressive 19-1 – and has a perfect 8-0 home NRFI split.

Last year, Bradish showed proficiency with a 15-8 record to the NRFI, but in 2023, he has taken a significant step forward. When facing batters for the first time through the order this season, Bradish has allowed only 30 hits in 159 plate appearances, resulting in a .189 average.

Bradish has never faced any of the New York Mets hitters before today, giving him the edge of unfamiliarity. Additionally, it plays to his advantage that the Mets are the worst first-inning offense on the road this season, with a 52-9 road NRFI record, which translates to an 85% NRFI Rate.

Our second NRFI selection today is Tampa Bay Rays ace, Tyler Glasnow. This season, Glasnow is 11-1 to the NRFI with a perfect 5-0 home NRFI split, and this now makes Glasnow 13-1 to the NRFI since 2022.

Glasnow's NRFI success stems from his proficiency against leadoff hitters this season, allowing only five hits in 36 at-bats for a .139 average.

Like Bradish, Glasnow has also not faced majority of these Detroit Tigers hitters in his career, which also gives him the edge of unfamiliarity. The Tigers also have a rather high NRFI Rate this season at 76%, and they are on a 9-1 NRFI run in their last 10 games as a team.

This custom NRFI selection is (-161) on DraftKings sportsbook.

As always, six outs to glory…
