What’s interesting is that recent history doesn't reflect those razor-thin margins. The Astros won both of their series against the White Sox this season, and those victories were hardly close, as all seven games were decided by at least two runs.
The Astros hold several tangible structural advantages over their rival, chief among them being the extensive playoff experience spread across their roster. In contrast, the only White Sox players with postseason appearances are Randal Grichuk and Andrew Benintendi, who won the 2018 World Series with the Red Sox.
The Astros certainly hold the edge and present a solid option on the moneyline. As for totals, targeting Over 7.5 is the safe play, although going for Over 8.5 is highly attractive, sitting just above the 8.43 average total runs scored across their head-to-head matchups this season.
Phillies vs. Braves
The Philadelphia Phillies travel to face the Atlanta Braves, with the moneyline heavily tilted in favor of the home team. Polymarket traders are confident the Braves will advance from this Wild Card Series, but Game 1 is always prone to upsets and high volatility.
Over the past few years, Braves lefty Chris Sale has been a massive headache for the Phillies. On Tuesday, Philadelphia will try to match him by leaning on Jesus Luzardo and Andrew Painter. Cubs vs. Padres
