Phillies vs Mets Same-Game Parlay Picks
Leg 1: Christian Scott Over 5.5 Strikeouts
For the first leg of my SGP for today’s MLB game, I’m looking toward Christian Scott’s strikeout total.
In Scott’s first season back after having undergone Tommy John surgery, the Mets’ righty has been a pleasant surprise for a team desperate for production from its pitching staff. Through 12 outings, Scott is running a 3.17 ERA and 1.30 WHIP across 54 innings.
Even better, Scott is striking out 9.6 batters per nine innings, ranking inside the top-30 qualified starting pitchers.
Across his past four starts, Scott has fanned 24 hitters in just 18 innings.
The Phillies don’t strike out a ton. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if the bats look a little slow after this past week’s All-Star festivities.
Scott dazzled in a start versus the Phils at the end of June, recording six strikeouts in just over four frames.
I expect more of the same from the Mets’ righty on Thursday night.
Leg 2: Juan Soto Over 1.5 HRR
For the second leg of my SGP, I want to fade Aaron Nola and grab a Mets player prop.
Nola’s having a bad year, running a 5.75 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across 97 innings. He’s struggled with command, and he’s allowed a ton of barrels and hard-hit balls.
Things won’t get easier on Thursday night against Juan Soto.
In 45 career head-to-head at-bats against Nola, Soto has 12 hits, 17 walks, and five home runs.
Nola has struggled against lefties this season (4.60 xFIP, .366 wOBA allowed), so it could be another massive day at the plate for Soto.
SGP Picks:
- Christian Scott Over 5.5 Strikeouts
- Juan Soto Over 1.5 HRR
Parlay Odds: +205 (FanDuel)
