Rays vs Royals Pick, Betting Analysis
These two teams played last week, and two of the four games of the series produced 15 and 17 runs each. Also, the opener of this series on Tuesday had a 14-run total.
Playing the over again with Ian Seymour and Stephen Kolek as the starters is a strong choice.
Seymour has a low 28.3% ground-ball rate, and the Royals hit lefties much better, while Kolek is coming off a terrible outing against the Cardinals, in which he allowed nine earned runs and three homers in just one and 2/3 innings.
Both teams have been raking in the past 14 days, with the Rays ranking second in the majors in wRC+ in that period with a whopping 143 rating, while the Royals are 18th with 94, much better than their season-long 23rd spot.
Of course, another huge factor is Junior Caminero, the hottest hitter in baseball right now, with nine home runs in his past eight contests and an amazing six-game homer streak going.
Also, Carter Jensen just ended a 20-game hitting streak yesterday and is averaging .358 in the past 15 days.
With all those ingredients, another over might be cooking.
Pick: Over 10.5 (-110, FanDuel)
