The Rangers (24-27) are looking to avoid a three-game sweep on the road against the Angels. Texas has gone 3-5 in its last eight games. They'll look to stop the bleeding with MacKenzie Gore on the mound.
Gore's surface stats are underwhelming, but his 3.96 xERA is better than his 4.78 ERA, so it's not as bad as it looks. Before leaving early in his last start vs the Rockies, Gore had his best outing of the season, going eight strong innings against the Diamondbacks.
The injury was just a minor lat issue, so Gore is expected to be a full-go for tonight. I still have high hopes for Gore this season, despite the mediocre start to the year.
