Hawks vs 76ers NBA Preview
This season, the Hawks and 76ers have played two thrilling, high-scoring games.
The Hawks took the first meeting, 142-134 in double overtime, and the second, 120-117, two weeks later.
The Hawks have now won seven straight matchups in the series but enter round three this season as a road underdog.
Both teams went into the All-Star break slumping, as the Hawks dropped five of seven games while the Sixers lost three of their past four.
In that span, the Hawks rank 18th in offensive rating, 22nd in defensive rating and 24th in net rating.
Despite the recent skid, Jalen Johnson has still played well. Over his last 10 games, he is averaging 25.1 points, 13 rebounds and 8.9 assists.
Johnson was a first-time All-Star this season. He played on the All-Star-winning USA Stripes team alongside 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey.
This season, Maxey is the league’s sixth-leading scorer at 28.9 points per game.
He has enjoyed playing the Hawks lately, scoring 30 points in three consecutive games against them over the last few years, including 44 in the overtime defeat.
Despite the extended time off coming out of the All-Star break, center Joel Embiid will be out once again with a knee injury.
The former MVP did not play in the team’s final two games before the break, and they lost both by 17 points or more.
Embiid did not add another All-Star appearance to his resume, but he certainly has been playing like it, averaging 30 points, eight rebounds and 4.5 assists per game over his last 20 games.
The 76ers will also remain without Paul George as he serves his suspension, but Kelly Oubre is available tonight.
For the Hawks, they will have to wait a bit longer for Jonathan Kuminga to make his team debut as he recovers from a knee injury.
Hawks vs 76ers Predictions, Betting Analysis
Hawks Moneyline
Embiid played in the first two meetings this season, but the Hawks still won both games — one in Philadelphia and one in Atlanta.
This time around, they will not have Embiid, and that is not good news for the 76ers. Without him, they are just 11-12 outright this season.
The Hawks have won seven straight in this series and covered in five of them.
Tonight, I like them to get their eighth straight victory over the 76ers as short road underdogs.
Jalen Johnson 40+ Points, Rebounds, and Assists
I look for Johnson to lead the way, as he already has a 40-point game against the 76ers, as well as one of his 10 triple-doubles this season.
He has recorded 40+ PRA in nine of his last 10 games.

Dyson Daniels 5+ Rebounds
Dyson Daniels has recorded at least five rebounds in five straight games against Philadelphia, averaging 7.8 per game over that span.
Philadelphia ranks 21st in rebounds allowed to shooting guards.
He has also grabbed five rebounds in eight of his last 10 games and should clear that mark tonight.

Tyrese Maxey 25+ Points
Without George and Embiid, Maxey and Oubre are the two primary scorers for the 76ers.
Maxey is averaging 26.9 points in 15 games without both this season.
He has scored 25 points in nine of those games and should have another big outing against the Hawks.

Kelly Oubre Jr. 15+ Points
Oubre is averaging 15.7 points without George and Embiid this season, two points above his season average.
He has scored 15 points in six of his last 10 games, and the Hawks rank 29th in points allowed to small forwards. They are also 17th in 3-pointers allowed, including 27th specifically against small forwards.
Their perimeter defense should benefit both Maxey and Oubre tonight.
