When Cade Cunningham exited Tuesday's Pistons-Wizards game in the first quarter with a back injury, Detroit fans and bettors winced along with him as Cunningham was ruled out for the rest of the game with just six points and two rebounds in five minutes.
But thanks to Fanatics Fair Play, bettors at Fanatics Sportsbook didn't need to worry.
Fanatics Fair Play states that if a player leaves a game because of injury in the first or second quarter, all straight prop bets on the player are refunded once that player is officially ruled out for the remainder of the game. Parlays are also saved, with the injured player's leg simply getting removed from the equation.
On Tuesday night, Fanatics Fair Play benefited bettors to the tune of:
- 19,915 benefiting wagers were kept alive, from 13,084 users
- $293,897.82 stakes on those wagers with a chance to benefit -> Final payout and cost of $157,089.89
- 3,359 actual wagers paid out from it in the end
- Best payout was $1,100.00 turned into $5,580.26

The Pistons went on to beat the Wizards 130-117, behind 36 points from Jalen Duren.
Cunningham has emerged as a longshot MVP candidate on the East's top-seeded team.
