The Timberwolves are walking into a tough situational spot tonight against the Cavaliers. They are playing their third game in four days and are on the second end of a back-to-back.
The biggest storyline to monitor here is the status of Anthony Edwards. He is currently on the injury report as questionable after he was seen grabbing at his knee a bit last night.
Right now, the betting market is not pricing this game as if there is any chance that Ant sits out, but given the grueling schedule and the knee tweak, it wouldn't shock me at all to see Minnesota exercise caution and hold him out.
Timberwolves vs Cavaliers Pick, Betting Analysis
I am taking Ayo Dosunmu to go over 11.5 points at -125 on BetMGM, and I would still play this up to 12.5.
Obviously, if Edwards sits, this becomes a fantastic spot, but even if Ant does play, I still really like this line.
Ayo has been instrumental to this Wolves team since he was acquired. With Minnesota, he has averaged 14.2 points per game in regular season games for Minnesota, and impressively, that production came while playing alongside heavy, ball-dominant players like Edwards and Julius Randle.
While LaMelo Ball also needs the basketball to operate, he is a much more willing passer who does not bog down the offensive flow, allowing guys like Ayo to naturally find their spots.
Dosunmu has played at least 23 minutes in every single game this season, and I expect him to get plenty of burn tonight against the Cavaliers.
