Finding value in the NBA totals market is all about identifying pace, defensive coverages, and regression spots. I've looked at the numbers for tonight's slate and narrowed it down to my favorite over/under spots on the board.

Let's get into my NBA total predictions and over/under picks for Friday, October 30.

The league's lowest-scoring offense could struggle to bounce back from its abysmal second half against the Detroit Pistons earlier this week.

Charlotte is averaging 101.0 points per game despite shooting the second-most three-pointers (43.2) per outing so far this season. They're converting those shots at just a 30.6% rate while waiting on sharpshooters Coby White and Kon Knueppel to make their 2026-27 debuts.

Brandon Miller and Naz Reid are leading Charlotte in points per game for now. However, Reid was benched during the second half of Wednesday's Pistons-Hornets game for not meeting team standards.

Buzz City posted just 38 points in the last two quarters of that contest, and its production could suffer if Reid's role remains up in the air. Less outside shooting doesn't bode well for a squad that ranks 29th in free throw attempts per game (17.6).

The Hornets have a lot to figure out on offense, but they do boast a top-10 scoring defense and remain a top-five rebounding team early this year. That can help them keep the score low in their rematch with the Wizards.

Washington added a new wrinkle by throwing AJ Dybantsa into the rotation for the first time this season against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but it is still finding its balance. The over is 0-3 in Charlotte road games this year, so a turnaround seems unlikely in this spot.

Pick: Under 219.5 (-110 — DraftKings)

The new-look Nuggets haven't looked as dynamic on offense as they have in the past.

Nikola Jokic is a walking triple-double threat, but he's attacking the rim less, and his field goal percentage (45.4%) has dropped dramatically. Those changes have been especially glaring on the road early in 2026-27.

Denver ranks dead last in road points per game (94.0) after visiting the Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans. It has middle-of-the-road team shooting efficiency and hasn't quite gotten the sharpshooting it's expected from Cam Johnson.

The floor has been crowded without his outside shooting, and he hasn't suited up since he suffered an ankle sprain in the Nuggets' season opener. Johnson is questionable for Friday, and it could be difficult for Jokic to maximize his playmaking abilities without a true third scoring option behind him and Jamal Murray.

Phoenix and Denver are bottom-six teams in pace, so don't expect too many possessions in this matchup. The Nuggets should take care of business here, but don't seem likely to run up the score while at less than 100 percent.

Pick: Nuggets Team Total Under 117.5 (-105 — DraftKings)
