Thunder vs Raptors NBA Preview
My best bet in tonight's matchup is Chet Holmgren under 17.5 points. I bet this the other day, and I’m going to keep betting it.
Holmgren is questionable for the Thunder in this game. So, we’ll see if he goes.
However, this line still feels inflated, even with the Thunder still missing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams.
The expectation is that Holmgren naturally sees a big uptick in usage and scoring in their absence, but we’re just not really seeing it.
Over the full season, he’s averaging 17.4 points per game.
In games without SGA and Williams, he’s stayed under this number in every outing (4 for 4), averaging 16.3 points per game.
There just hasn’t been a meaningful increase in his opportunity. He’s actually averaging fewer shots — about 10.5 per game in this split versus 11.5 on the season.
So, the anticipated usage bump simply hasn’t materialized.
Thunder vs Raptors Predictions, Analysis
Part of the reason why we haven't seen noticeable upticks from Holmgren is the Thunder's shot distribution as of late.
We’re seeing more attempts from Jared McCain, additional volume from Aaron Wiggins, and Isaiah Hartenstein is back in the mix.
Because of that, Holmgren just isn’t getting the kind of offensive expansion you’d expect with those key absences.
Tonight's matchup against the Raptors should be reasonably competitive — especially compared to recent spots against teams like the Nets or Bucks.
Still, this number looks a bit too high based on what he’s actually done this season, and the lack of a true usage spike in the absence of Shai and Williams.
Pick: Chet Holmgren Under 17.5 Points (-120)
