Magic vs Kings NBA Preview

The loss of Franz Wagner is huge for the Magic. Equally significant, however, is Domantas Sabonis being out for the Kings.

I have been looking at this line for a couple of days, and if you grabbed it at Kings +11, chef’s kiss to you.

However, I wouldn’t touch the Sacramento side at anything south of +9.5 for the full game.

The Magic feel virtually unplayable without Franz. They have struggled to cover against teams like Utah, New Orleans and Brooklyn in recent games.

I also don’t think teams coming out of the break are going to be quite as egregious right away, though they very well could be.

Sacramento has already taken Sabonis out of the equation, so that dynamic is clear.

Orlando struggles to defend guards, allowing the most points in the NBA to the position.

Magic vs Kings Predictions, Betting Analysis

I’m going to take the Kings +5.5 in the first half against the Magic tonight.

The first half is a very playable angle if you want to fade Orlando.

The Magic are 3-7 against the spread in the first half over their last 10 games.

In general, when a team is in tank-mode, the end of games is what you should worry about; that’s where they tend to pull back a bit.

If you want to look at a Russell Westbrook over, I wouldn’t hate that either.

Malik Monk and Westbrook should get cooking early in this game.

That’s why I think the first half is the way to play Sacramento here at +5.

Pick: Kings First Half Spread +5 (-115)
