NCAA Baseball Best Bets · Sunday, May 28

It's Championship Sunday. We are just hours away from regional brackets being announced, but some of the nation's top teams still have business left to handle in conference-tournament championship games.

Find out which team' will take home tournament titles in today's edition of Action Network's NCAA Baseball best bets.

Editors Note: The ACC Tournament championship game between Clemson and Miami has been delayed due to inclement weather. First pitch is now expected at 2 p.m. ET.

Clemson -125 vs. Miami

2 p.m. ET · ESPN2

The Clemson Tigers may be the most dangerous team in the country. They have looked phenomenal this entire ACC Tournament and have extended their winning streak to 15 consecutive games.

On top of Clemson's hot streak, it also has a significant edge on the mound this afternoon. Tournaments are wars of attrition, and the Miami Hurricanes will likely be shorthanded this afternoon. The Hurricanes used two of their top arms to take down Wake Forest yesterday, and their closer has worked in all three games.

Miami's pitching options are thin for this matchup, and that is not ideal against a Clemson team that has outscored its opponents 28-9 in ACC tournament play.

Clemson will be crowned tourney champs on Sunday afternoon.

Pick: Clemson -125

Maryland -110 vs. Iowa

3 p.m. ET · Big Ten Network

The Iowa Hawkeyes and Maryland Terrapins each used their No.2 starters yesterday to advance to today's championship game. However, that has left both in precarious positions.

Iowa could turn to ace Marcus Morgan, but coach Rick Heller said that Morgan would be limited to around 30 pitches. The motivation to throw him is questionable; Iowa may prefer to keep him rested for next weekend.

Meanwhile, Maryland's pitching staff is nearly out of starting options. Dean and Savacool threw on back-to-back games, while Kyle McCoy is not 100% after returning earlier in the week.

However, if this game is going to be a slugfest, then I'm taking the Terrapins. Maryland's lineup was a notch above the Hawkeyes' this season, as they significantly outranked them in every offensive category.

Pick: Maryland -110

Vanderbilt -145 vs. Texas A&M

3 p.m. ET · ESPN2

The Texas A&M Aggies have made an incredible run during the SEC Tournament, taking down some of the country's best baseball teams to get here. That tremendous run has all been spurred by the Aggies' starting pitching.

On the other side, Vanderbilt has surprised by getting things going at the dish. The Commodores entered the 2023 SEC Tournament with health concerns in the starting rotation and an underperforming lineup.

Nevertheless, they have outscored Auburn, Florida and Alabama to get to this point. Today, they will piece the pitching together with a number of their dominant bullpen arms.

Both teams have been trending in the right direction, but I'm backing the team with a better longterm track record on the bump.

Pick: Vanderbilt -145
