- Odds to win the 2020 college basketball national championship have been released by Caesars in Las Vegas.
- Virginia and Duke are the favorites, with 19 other teams listed at 50-1 or better.
Even with many of the sport’s impact players undecided on where they’ll play next season, we can start looking ahead to college basketball’s 2019-20 national title odds.
Caesars in Las Vegas was first to market with title odds for next season. Oddsmakers list Virginia, Duke and Kentucky as the favorites and the only teams at less than 10-1. There are 21 teams listed at 50-1 or better and 79 total teams with lines.
Virginia has just one senior on its roster and will play for a national title on Monday night, but could lose several key contributors to the NBA Draft this spring.
Last year, Duke also opened at 5-1, though much of that came from the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class, not returning starters.

Recruiting plays a huge factor in college basketball’s landscape and futures odds for next season. Arizona has the No. 1 class in the country right now and sits at 25-1 despite missing the NCAA Tournament this season. Villanova will bring in two top-20 recruits this summer and returns plenty of talent, as well.
This season, Texas Tech has seemingly come out of nowhere with a bunch of lightly-recruited players to reach the national title game. The Red Raiders were 50-1 before the season, while Virginia was among the favorites at 15-1.
