  • Odds to win the 2020 college basketball national championship are updated ahead of the season.
  • Michigan State, Kentucky and Kansas are the favorites, with several other teams that were favored in April dropping off thanks to key players heading to the NBA.

College basketball in the summer can be a strange place.

Players are declaring for the NBA Draft. The transfer market heats up. The NCAA is coming down with its judiciary hammer on some programs.

That’s why national title odds will shift a lot from April to October and ahead of the season, moreso than in any other sport.

Michigan State is the national title favorite at 6-1, with Kentucky and Kansas the only other teams with single-digit odds at 8-1.

Several teams have dropped thanks to NBA and other defections, including Michigan (12-1 to 80-1) and Virginia (7-1 to 25-1).
