The DePaul Blue Demons will travel to Kentucky to take on the Louisville Cardinals on Friday night.
DePaul (7-1) is off to a respectable start but hasn't had any notable victories besides Rutgers, which is ranked No. 93 overall according to KenPom and just knocked off No. 1 ranked Purdue on Thursday.
The Blue Demons' only loss this season is to Loyola Chicago (ranked No. 29 overall by KenPom) by two points. DePaul is ranked 99th overall according to KenPom's metrics.
DePaul has improved on their paltry 5-14 record last season by heightening their pace of play and improving on their shooting efficiency under new head coach Tony Stubblefield, a longtime Oregon assistant.
Meanwhile, Louisville (6-2) has mostly coasted through the beginning of the season, but do have solid wins against No. 53 ranked Maryland and No. 80 ranked North Carolina State.
The Cardinals have suffered losses to Michigan State (21st) and — weirdly — No. 119 ranked Furman.
While Louisville is ranked just No. 40 overall according to KenPom, they have the 19th best defense in the country.
